Doeken
In the project ‘Doeken’ (Dutch for ‘Cloths’), students from ROC Tilburg were given the creative freedom to visualise a young person from the Tilburg North district in a textile object. To do this, the students went through a creative process based on one-on-one conversations with the youth from the neighbourhood. From these conversations, the students started a process book, recording each step made towards the final result. Decisions on shape, materials, and colours, as well as technology, were documented. Tests and samples were made before deciding what the final work should look like. In the final production, each student made the work as how it was shaped and designed in the creative process. This project is part of Expositie #1.
